Report: Iron Under-18s 1-1 Lincoln City Under-18s

14 October 2017

The Iron’s Under-18 side drew 1-1 with their Lincoln City counterparts on Saturday morning.

Louis Collins netted a first-half equaliser after the Imps had taken an early lead, and the team put in their best performance of the season so far in the process.

Kane Bartholomew played the striker in, who then received the ball and bent it into the top corner.

United’s team created numerous chances and showed good character throughout, dominating for a longer periods and sticking to the principles they’ve worked on in training.

Under-18s football is all about the players’ development and getting them to a level which means they have the best possible chance of making it as a first team player. Collectively, the performance was the best of the campaign so far and there was plenty to be encouraged by.

United’s next league game is away at Hartlepool on Saturday, October 28th (11.30am kick-off at Blackhall Colliery Welfare Park).

Team: Kelsey, Pugh, Bartholomew, Hornshaw, Lilley, Morfoot, Allasan (Harrison, 90’), Porter, Collins, Okafor (Kalu, 73’), Train.
Subs not used: Colclough, Riches.
